Welcome to the 2014-2015 Season

Subtitle: "We're not dead yet"

This post is about two weeks too late, but we are back for the 2014-2015 season. There's been a lot of change behind the curtains -- we had to switch out data providers, the API we were using for in-game graphs is disappearing and had to be worked around, and (on a personal note) I moved a few weeks ago and had to spend time being all domestic tending to a new house and a backyard -- but that's only delayed us.

We will have some cool new features, though, including color-coded Javascript-based in-game win probability charts, and full round-robin simulations to determine the current best conference (preview: right now it's the SEC, followed by the Big XII).

We're also partnering with the folks over at Football Study Hall to contribute to the game charting project. We're providing the software that'll run it, and they're providing ... well, everything else: the vision, the management, and the manpower.

Small things like improving the quality of the predictions and the quality of the in-game models are also on the table, but right now they're taking a back seat to actually getting the blog up and running. Baby steps.

Welcome back for the 2014-2015 season. Comments and feedback are always welcome.
